A three day Professional Development Program
for all the Principals and Headmistresses of our schools under Holy Cross
Educational Foundation {HCEF} was organized from 27 to 30, May 2022, as part of
"HCEF Leadership Conclave 2022". The day academically witnessed
rigorous discussions and exchanges of ideas, leading to meaningful action-pointers
essential to drive the culture of improvement in our Educational Institutes. The
program began with a pre-reflection task that helped the participants understand
the principals' and headmistresses' specific needs and challenges. One of the
common areas of critical importance identified across the schools was the need
to focus on strengthening the teaching, learning and assessment-practices,
leading to a "culture of improvement in learning." Accordingly, the main
focus of the program was to encourage principals, to critically reflect on the
importance of transitioning from school leadership to educational leadership,
preparing them to lead and improve teaching and learning in their schools. A
framework for pedagogical leadership was introduced during the session, supporting
principals and headmistresses to develop an "Annual Pedagogical Plan"
for their schools. The three-day session was animated by Mr. Pavan Kumar from
Variance Eduventure, Bangalore.
